Nom got cut in the fourth round by an elbow blow but still overpowered his opponent to win this exciting fight.

Laurene was the underdog in her fight. Her opponent, Nong Ann, has fought more than 100 times. Laurene is taller though and managed to knee her way to victory.

We arrived at the stadium late and only saw the last three rounds. There was tons of traffic in Patong, being the end of the year. It was a close fight but Yan won by decision.

Hehm has not fought in a long time and is a bit rusty. He manages to win this close enoucounter by decision.

This was a close fight. The first three rounds were a draw then Anni's opponent stepped it up in Round 4 but Anni came back in the last round. Result: draw.

Teresa took this fight at the last minute. She was not expecting to fight on Christmas Day! She won her previous encounter with this opponent but this time lost by decision.

Gisli was nervous before the fight, seeing his considerably larger opponent from Tiger on the other corner. But in Round 2 he started to clinch and to knee and finished him off with some speedy elbows.

Chad hasn't fought in many years bought still has the technique to win. This fight was a master class in the "lock and sweep" technique. His brother, Dogmaipa, who is Lumpini Champion, came to watch him fight.

Laurene lost weight for this fight and she was up against a more experienced opponent who was faster and stronger in the clinch. Laurene won a trophy for best Wai Kru though!

Yan fought smart, scoring well in every round and won 10,000 Baht in prize money.

This is Anni's third fight for Rawai. It was very close. She made a huge effort to win the 5th round and the fight. The fight took place in Khao Lak.

Although Michael from Naiharn Boxing Club is smaller than Nom he has beaten Nom twice before. This is the 4th time they meet in the ring. Nom's record was 2 losses and 1 draw. This time Nom stepped-it-up and won by forfeit in the last round.

This was the most contested fight of the night. Wanmichai's opponent, from Lion Muay Thai, was kicking and going forward for three rounds. But in the last two rounds Wanmichai clinches and knees more and gets the win.

Jonathan fought 5 rounds and outlasted his opponent, winning by decision. Another Rawai student fought the same night and won by TKO in Round 3. This boxer, however, wants to remain anonymous so I can't put the fight online.

Gerri: 4 December 2010

King's Cup, Bangkok: Gerri and Anna meet again for the third time. Gerri won their two previous encounters. This time Anna was faster and won by decision. Gerri weighed in at 62.2 Kilos; Anna: 62.5 Kilos.

Nom was the underdog for this match-up. He fought against Ritt from Tiger Muay Thai. Ritt was punching away and swinging elbows right and left. Nom got cut right away in Round one. But he countered with a strong kick and knocked Ritt down! Awsome!

This is the fourth time these two fighters meet. Gerri won their first two encounters. This time, Amy was stronger in the clinch. Gerri has lost weight this year and is now much lighter than Amy, which took it's tool in this fight. Gerri is next fighting at the prestigious King's Cup event in Bangkok on December 4, 2010.

Songkran wins again. He was quite the boxer back in the days in Bangkok. He still has it!

Laurene was losing a close match but towards the end she steped it up. In Round 5 Laurene's opponent committed two fouls which would have turned the match in Lauren's favor. She grabbed onto the rope with her arm to keep from falling. This is not allowed in Muay Thai and after the second foul it is an automatic 2 point deduction. But the referee didn't do it and this made our trainers very angry. You can see Hehm go in the ring and point and yell at the referee! It's a shame, sometimes these things happen. Anyways, Laurene lost by decision.

Yaya's Dad, Ji Deen, was a trainer at Rawai. He got sick last year and passed away. He was relatively young and leaves behind 6 children. Yaya is one of them and he's a pretty good boxer with lots of potential so he is joining the Rawai team.

This was a mismatch. Alex's opponent was too strong. He had been champion at Raja Stadium, years ago. After round 2 our corner, in order to protect Alex, decides to throw in the towel.

This was the event of the year for Phuket Muay Thai. Celebrating the birthday of the owner of Bangla Stadium, Khun Piya, some of the country's best young boxers participated. Standing room only! Somrak Khamsing, the 1996 Gold medalist winner in boxing, was in attendance. Nom fought a tough opponent. After winning rounds 3 and 4 his opponent came back strong in round 5 but it was too little too late.

This is Sid's first loss since he's been back to Rawai. He gets knocked out in Round 2. A punching combination with a strong right hook brings Sid down in Round 2. He tries to continue but is dazed and the referee stops it.

After 3 rounds Songkran was winning by a lot but in Round 4 his opponent, younger and a bit taller, comes back strong with the knees and Songkran was too tired to go on.

This is a rematch fight between Gerri and Anna from Tiger Muay Thai. Gerri won their first encounter on September 27, 2010. This time the fight was closer and at the end of Round 4, Anna was winning. But Gerri came back strong in Round 5 and prevailed again! She got cut in the first round on her left eyebrow and got 8 stitches. You're still beautiful Gerri!

Linglom wins again! He's on a hot streak. He wins by decision after five rounds. Daniel Barber was on the fight card too but he was sick with the flu and could not fight. You can see Daniel at the beginning of the clip, speaking to the public. He said he was more nervous about speaking than fighting!

This was a stunning loss for Sunanta. After round 4 the odds were in her favor 30-1. In the last seconds of Round 5 Yodnampet gets lucky with a right hand shot and Sunanta receives an 8 count which cost her the fight. Still she fought very well against a more experienced opponent and we're proud of her.

The Jabout Twins did well tonight! Brad won his fight by KO in Round 2. Dean won by KO in Round 4, along with the Patong stadium belt. Well done boys!

Ankie

Ankie trains at Baan Muay Thai Club in Jakarta. He spent 1 month at Rawai Camp in order to get ready for his very first fight. His friends and family flew from Indonesia to watch him fight. It was a hard fight for Ankie as he was matched up against a more experienced boxer. Ankie showed no fear however and won by TKO in Round 2.

This is David's first Muay Thai fight. He's fought before in France but never with full Thail rules.

Sid

Sid is a trainer at Rawai Muay Thai camp. He took a leave of absence from the sport for 5 years while he got married and started a family. Now he's back! In this fight he uses his knees to tire out his opponent and wins by TKO in Round 4.

Yan

This is Yan's first belt. He had to lose 3 kilos for this fight (about 10% of his weight). He was still 1 pound heavy at the morning weigh in he had to run in a sauna suit to make weight. It was an exciting fight, up and down, and Yan won by decision. Well done!

This was an important fight for Boss, fighting for the 126 Lbs. South Thailand Championship. He lost 6 kilos for this fight and had to run in the morning to make weight. He was unlucky and lost by decision. The rematch is planned for next month in Rajadamnern Stadium in Bangkok.

Yohan

This is Yohan first Muay Thai fight. He wasn't expecting to fight but as the training went on he decided it would be a good experience. He did well and won by TKO in Round 2.

Pom is a resident boxer at Rawai Muay Thai Camp. He is small for his age but is confident in the ring. In this fight he wins easily in Round 1 (knee to the ribs).

This is Mark's first fight for Rawai Muay Thai (pictured above, right). His opponent was too fast and punched him hard, breaking his jaw. Mark will rest and recuperate and wants to fight again!

This is Zack's first Muay Thai fight. He tries hard but could not counter his opponents knees in the clinch. Zack lost the fight by referee stopage in Round 4.

Gerri and Teresa fought at the Queen's Cup in Bangkok. According to Bang and Chad, Gerri won her fight, but it was close and the referees favored the opponent fighting out of the local gym (Kaewsamrit). Yud

Yud is a trainer at Rawai Muay Thai camp. He teaches daily and didn't have time to train for this match but still put up a good fight and won by decision.

Boss was originally scheduled to fight but he is training hard for a big match soon and didn't wan't to run the risk of getting hurt, so he asked Yud to step in, at the last minute. Yud had taught all day and wasn't planning on doing any fighting... but stepped in the ring nevertheless and managed 3 rounds before losing by TKO.

Ling Lom is a recent addition to the Rawai Muay Thai team. This is his second fight for the camp. He fought hard but lost a close fight on points.

Sid is one of the original trainers at Rawai Muay Thai camp. He went home, got married and had 2 kids. He hasn't fought in six years. Now he's back in the gym, teaching and fighting again.
