The Songkran Festival is
a celebration of the Thai New Year.
It is the start of the wet season, and a time
to reflect on the past year and the new year ahead. it is also the funnest time to be in Thailand. Songkran Festival is the worlds biggest water
fight.
All of Thailand celebrates the Songkran festival with a massive water
fight.
During the Songkran festival the streets are lined with thousands of people
armed with
buckets of water, they are ready to splash everyone that passes
by, both locals and tourists! Thais enjoys adding talcum powder to the water. When splashed with this podwery water the effect is funny: you end up with white hair and face. Also, the new rage is to put ice in the buckets, so bewarem some of the water is icy cold!
Between sunrise and sunset expect to get
wet if you venture outdoors during the Songkran Festival.
